An Impromptu Trip to Moab

An Impromptu Trip to Moab

It's been raining every weekend in every corner of Colorado for what seems like forever.  Our cabin fever had hit the boiling point and we decided it was time for a road trip to dryer ground.

Our original plan was to hike McInnis Canyon which boasts the 2nd largest concentration of natural arches in the world.  You can access it by driving through Colorado National Monument.  Unfortunately,  it had rained before we got there and the road impassable.  As disheartening as this was we didn't want to lose any more daylight.  We took a quick look at the doppler and decided that Moab, just an hour away, was our best bet.  So off we went towards the largest concentration of natural arches in the world......

We've been to Arches National Park twice before and wanted to try to find something secluded.  A task that is almost a fools errand in this park.

We headed down a 4WD road towards the Tower Arch trailhead.  If you've driven on sand and are comfortable with steep hill sections then I would definitely recommend it.
